SDLs help the students to understand the concerned topic in a better way. 6. 'Acharya P. C. Ray Open Laboratory’

The 'Acharya P. C. Ray Open Laboratory’ has the requisite facilities for doing both curricular & extra-curricular science activities, experiments and investigative projects in basic physics, chemistry and biology.

7. Eastern India science fair 2012 & Science and Engineering fair 2012

The Eastern India science fair 2012 & Science and Engineering fair 2012, will be organized from January 17 - 21, 2012 at BITM fair ground. It is expected that more than 500 students from 200 schools/colleges with about 200 models and exhibits will participate from 13 Eastern India States including 19 Districts of West Bengal. As in the past, thousands are expected to visit the fair and interact with the exhibitors.

Sri Ujjal Biswas, Minister-in-charge, Youth Services Dept., Govt. of West Bengal shall inaugurate the fair on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 3:00 pm. Prof. Ajoy Kumar Ray, Vice Chancellor, shall be the Guest-of-Honour.

The fair will be open for students and general public from January 18 - 20, 2012 from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm and on January 21, 2012 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Valediction & Prize Distribution programme shall be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 4.00 pm. Dr. Aariz Aftab, Secretary, Youth Services Dept., Govt. of West Bengal shall be the Chief Guest. Shri Mahan Maharaj, Head, School of Mathematical Sciences, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University, Belur and Bhatnagar Prize Awardee 2011 shall be the Guest-of-Honour.
